How the Process Works at Julie’s Cubbie
~Julie’s Cubbie is looking for excellent used and new furniture and home goods for consignment at the 214 Jones Ave. shop and excellent used and new clothing, shoes, purses, hats and jewerly at the new clothing consignment shop at 222 F St. We do NOT take mattresses and bedframes at the Furniture shop and at the Clothing shop we do NOT take belts, light weight scarves, cold shoulder/cut out shoulder tops, casual leggings, PJs, robes, bras, bralettes, underwear, maternity, scrubs, and business clothing like suits (men’s and women’s, blazers, trousers, pencil skirts, ties, etc.) .
Sizes we do NOT take are women’s pant sizes 0, 24, 25, XXS and over size 18. We do NOT take women’s shoe sizes less than 6. Men’s pant sizes we do NOT take are less than a 32 waist or greater than a 38 waist. We also do NOT take men’s shoes less than a size 10.
All items should be clean and clothing items should be folded. All items should be free of rips, tears, stains, smells, hair, lint, pilling, excessive wear, scratches, dents, etc. Items should be in a container other than a plastic trashbag.
~Julie’s Cubbie determines prices for items based on brand, condition, style, local market demand, etc. What may sell at higher prices in Denver or other larger cities does not always sell at those higher prices in Salida. The reverse can be true as well. Research and local market knowledge is used to fairly price items for both consignor and Julie’s Cubbie to make a profit within a reasonable time frame.
~Consignors receive 40% of the sale price at both locations. At the furniture shop, after 30 days the price drops 25%, after 60 days, the price drops to 50%.
NEW CLOTHING SHOP INFORMATION ~ At the clothing shop, after 30 days, items may be donated or marked down based on our floor space.
NEW CLOTHING AND FURNITURE INFORMATION ~ Based on the high volume of items we take in and price each week, we cannot guarantee your items will get a full 90/60 days respectively on our floor due to space issues. If you are not comfortable having your items pulled prior to the 90/60 days, then we recommend not consigning with us. Any item left after 90/60 days at the furniture/clothing store respectively is designated as expired and becomes the property of Julie’s Cubbie.
~At the clothing shop, 222 F St., you may bring up to 20 items of clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. 4 days a week from 11am - 4pm, Fridays through Mondays. We will go through your items and give you back any items we do not want. You may run errands while we go through your items. HOWEVER, you MUST come back and get any items we do not take before we close that SAME day. If you do NOT come back for your items, your account will be charged $20.
~For furniture items and larger pieces of home decor like large pieces of artwork, floor lamps, rugs, etc. for the furniture shop at 214 Jones Ave., text or email photos to Julie’s Cubbie for an initial review of the items using the cell phone number below. If the items are initially approved to bring in, the items still may be refused if once they arrive they are not in the appropriate condition. The better the photos and information given of any types of issues with an item the more likely an item only has to be moved once, either to Julie’s Cubbie or to another location.
~Delivery time(s) for bringing in these larger, pre-approved items are set once the item(s) have been reviewed and approved. Delivery times are based on floor space.
~It is always a good idea to contact us for smaller home good items to make sure we are currently accepting new consignment items. If we are accepting new consignment items, you may bring up to 15 smaller home good items on Thursdays through Mondays between 11am-4pm
